Saudi Arabia has introduced its highly anticipated eVisa program, welcoming travelers from 63 eligible countries to explore the nation’s rich heritage, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes.
However, it’s unfortunate that Pakistani tourists do not fall within the group of fortunate travelers eligible to apply for this convenient electronic visa.
The Saudi Arabian government’s decision to open its doors to international tourists through the new eVisa program has generated excitement worldwide. Visitors from 63 eligible countries, including those from North America, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and Africa, can now take advantage of this streamlined process.
Asian countries eligible for Saudi e-visa
Among the list of Asian countries eligible for the online visa are:
- Azerbaijan
- Brunei
- China (including Hong Kong and Macau)
- Japan
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Malaysia
- Maldives
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Tajikistan
- Thailand
- Turkey
- Uzbekistan
These fortunate travelers can now explore Saudi Arabia’s attractions, from the scenic mountains of Abha to the stunning beaches of the Red Sea, and the enchanting sands of the Empty Quarter.
Pakistan excluded from the e-visa program
Regrettably for Pakistani travelers, the kingdom’s eVisa program does not extend its hospitality to them. Pakistani tourists interested in visiting Saudi Arabia must go through the traditional visa application process by visiting the relevant Saudi mission and adhering to all necessary requirements.
While the eVisa offers a one-year, multiple-entry option, permitting tourists to stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 90 days for activities such as leisure, family and relative visits, events, and Umrah (excluding Hajj), it does not cover other purposes such as studying.
