Three-Month Extension for Zaka Ashraf Announced

Three-Month Extension

Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has granted a three-month extension to Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee.

According to a notification from the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry issued on Saturday, the committee will organize elections within the next three months.

Zaka Ashraf leads the 10-member management committee. The Ashraf-led PCB Management Committee was established in July 2023 for a four-month term, and the extension of three months has been provided by the PCB under the prerogative of the caretaker Prime Minister.

This decision follows interim PM Kakar’s announcement that a determination about Ashraf’s future as PCB chief would be made after the conclusion of the World Cup.

This statement came shortly after the national cricket team’s victory against New Zealand in a rain-affected match during the World Cup, maintaining their hopes for reaching the event’s semi-final stage.
