Rain Disruption Possible for Pakistan vs. New Zealand World Cup Match

Rain Disruption

The upcoming cricket clash between Pakistan and New Zealand in Bangalore faces a significant threat from rain, potentially becoming the deciding factor in the match’s outcome.

With a 70 to 80 percent chance of rain predicted from 2 pm on Saturday, the weather conditions are causing concern among players and fans alike.

This match holds paramount importance for Pakistan, as they aim to secure a victory over New Zealand with a substantial margin. An 84-run win would elevate Pakistan above New Zealand in the standings.

However, the impending rain poses a risk of match disruption, raising uncertainties about the outcome.

If the match is indeed washed out due to the rain, both teams would receive a single point each, and the net run rate, a crucial tiebreaker, would remain unaffected. Scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., the match’s fate hinges on the unpredictable elements, adding an extra layer of suspense to this high-stakes encounter.

Court Allows Qureshi’s Medical Examination

Meanwhile,

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while incarcerated at Adiala Jail, was granted permission by Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain to be transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Thursday due to his illness.

The formal request for this transfer was filed by Adiala Jail officials, as Qureshi was reportedly suffering from gallbladder pain. The court was informed by jail authorities that necessary medical tests needed to be conducted, necessitating the hospital transfer.

Qureshi is currently facing charges in the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act while in Adiala Jail. The charges allege that he assisted Imran Khan in the illegal communication and retention of a classified cable during his tenure as foreign minister.
