The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing Israeli massacre and war crimes, particularly the recent carnage in the Jabalia Camp. The OIC, based in Jeddah, called on the international community to swiftly intervene to halt this brutal Israeli massacre and provide international protection for Palestinian civilians.

Additionally, the OIC urged the world community to ensure the delivery of essential supplies and urgent, long-term humanitarian assistance to the affected Palestinian population. Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, which began when Hamas fighters crossed the border on October 7, has led to a significant loss of life, primarily among civilians, with the Gaza health ministry reporting more than 8,500 casualties.
In a separate incident a day earlier, an Israeli air attack on apartment buildings in the residential area of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza resulted in the tragic loss of at least 50 lives, with numerous others injured. Israeli troops continued their advance into Gaza, leading to heavy clashes in a residential area of Gaza City, despite calls for a ceasefire.
The United Nations expressed deep concern about the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of children faced the risk of dehydration and death. UNICEF highlighted the distressing number of child casualties due to bombardment, which was escalating rapidly. The organization’s spokesman, James Elder, described Gaza as a tragic place for children and emphasized the urgent need for clean water in the region.
