Aitzaz Ahsan Suggests Nawaz Sharif’s Return as Part of a ‘Deal’

Nawaz Sharif’s Return

On Tuesday, senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif had returned to the country as part of a ‘deal.’

Ahsan made this assertion while speaking to the media in Lahore, stating that those engaged in a deal could quickly withdraw from it. He also emphasized the importance of holding lawyers’ elections on the scheduled dates.

In addition, Sindh’s former minister, Saeed Ghani, declared on Sunday that the PPP would become the largest party in Karachi.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Ghani expressed confidence that PPP candidates would achieve success in both the Central and Korangi districts. Ghani further observed that the political landscape appeared to be favoring PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

He noted that while the PML-N believed in empowering the nation to choose its leaders, there was a perception that the situation was being made favorable for Nawaz Sharif, which he cautioned against, deeming it inappropriate. Overall, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan claimed Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan was part of a ‘deal,’ speaking on Tuesday.

In a crucial World Cup match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to 204 runs. Pakistan now needs 205 runs to defeat Bangladesh, who were all out in the 46th over after choosing to bat first.

Bangladesh faced early trouble as Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto in his first two overs. Haris Rauf then dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim in the sixth over.

Despite the early losses, the partnership between Litton Das, scoring 45 runs, and Mahmudullah, contributing 56 runs, helped Bangladesh recover.
