Indian deputy IT minister investigated over social media post after attack on Jehovah’s Witnesses

The attack resulted in three fatalities and 50 people sustaining injuries. One individual was apprehended for claiming responsibility for the attack and accusing the religious group of being anti-national.

The Deputy Minister, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, took to social media to denounce the blast and also accused Kerala’s ruling Communist party of showing favor to radical organizations, notably singling out the Palestinian group Hamas.

In response to these allegations, Kerala’s Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, refuted the claims, asserting that the allegations regarding the Kerala government permitting protests against Israel were baseless. Chandrashekhar’s legal counsel is expected to handle the criminal case initiated by the Kerala police.
