LAHORE: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq clarified that the recent deadline given to illegal foreign refugees to leave the country specifically applies to undocumented Afghan refugees. He stated that only refugees living in Pakistan without any documentation would be asked to return to their home country.
In his remarks to the media, Kakar emphasized that no country in the world permits the residence of illegal refugees within its borders, highlighting the importance of adhering to legal immigration procedures. He reassured that the goal of the administration is not to confiscate anyone’s property as refugees leave the country.

When asked about the upcoming elections, Kakar expressed his eagerness for the elections, but he noted that the specific date for the elections would be determined by the Election Commission of Pakistan. He also emphasized the significance of the constitution, which encompasses more than just elections, and expressed the desire for a stable government to oversee the country’s affairs.
Regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Kakar stated that imposing a ban on the party is beyond the mandate of the caretaker government. He encouraged PTI’s loyal candidates to participate in the upcoming election.
Additionally, Kakar mentioned the Special Investment Facilitation Council, created by the outgoing government, and emphasized that its reforms should not be challenged on any forum.
He also expressed hope for successful negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team, which were set to begin on November 2, indicating the importance of these talks for the country’s economic stability.
