Multan Sultans appointed Catherine Dalton as their fast-bowling coach, marking a historic moment in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history.
At 30 years old, Dalton became the first female coach in PSL history and the first female fast-bowling coach for a top-level men’s side. Multan Sultans made this significant announcement via their official account.

Multan Sultans’ announcement on their X account read, “Pace ace Catherine Dalton (@cathdalton57) joins Multan Sultans as our new Fast Bowling Coach! An @ECB_cricket certified Level 3 Advanced Coach, Dalton has previously held coaching positions in the National Fast Bowling Academy in the UK and the Ultimate Pace Foundation in India.” Moreover, the team noted her experience in coaching MS Academy players to excellence, solidifying her position as the PSL’s first-ever female coach.
Catherine Dalton, a former Irish international player, was born in England and gained Irish citizenship in 2015. She represented Ireland in four ODIs and four T20Is. Currently, she is actively engaging in the Sultans Youth Academy in Lodhran, Pakistan.
Furthermore, she has visited Pakistan on two previous occasions and has worked closely with several fast bowlers, including Mohammad Ilyas, Sameen Gul, and Arshad Iqbal. In addition to her experience, Dalton holds an ECB-certified Level 3 Advanced Coach certification and has served in coaching roles at the national fast-bowling academy in the UK and the Ultimate Pace Foundation in India.
