Apple has rolled out an update for its iOS 17 software to tackle an overheating issue linked to its latest iPhones.
Just last month, the iPhone 15 series made its debut, boasting a sleek titanium exterior and the powerful A17 pro chip exclusively designed to power the Pro and Pro Max models, positioning them as ideal choices for high-end mobile gaming.
However, shortly after the launch of the iPhone 15 models, users began reporting problems related to battery life and overheating.
According to an Apple spokesperson, the most recent iOS 17 software update contains “significant bug fixes, security enhancements, and addresses an issue that may cause the iPhone to run hotter than anticipated.”
In response to complaints about the new phones running excessively warm, Apple had previously explained that the initial days after setting up or restoring the device might lead to increased warmth due to heightened background activity.
Furthermore, Apple clarified that recent updates to certain third-party apps, such as Meta’s Instagram and Uber, were causing system overload, noting that the Pro models did not experience overheating issues due to their design. Instead, the new titanium shells contributed to enhanced heat dissipation.

Apple clarified that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do not suffer from overheating due to their design, and the new titanium shells actually result in improved heat dissipation compared to previous stainless steel models. The company emphasized that this issue does not pose a safety or injury risk and will not impact the phone’s long-term performance.

Just ahead of the Apple event, Huawei reportedly increased its second-half shipment target for the Mate 60 series, a smartphone with satellite capabilities, by 20%, according to the official Securities Times in China.
Despite the anticipation surrounding the iPhone 15 launch, Apple did not unveil any blockbuster surprises during the event, and the company’s shares closed down 1.7% following the announcement.
