LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has summoned PML-N leaders Marriyum Aurangzeb and Javed Latif to appear on September 30. This summons is related to a case involving provocative speeches.
ATC judge Abher Gul Khan issued the order during a hearing that took place on a Saturday. In this case, the court rejected the discharge report submitted by the police, leading to the summoning of Aurangzeb and Latif on September 30.
On September 14, 2022, a terrorism case was registered against Aurangzeb and Latif in Lahore. The report accused them of “utilizing religion to foster and disseminate hatred” against PTI chief Imran Khan. An individual filed the initial report at the Green Town Police Station in Lahore. The police registered this FIR under sections 9 (entailing punishment for acts intended or likely to incite sectarian hatred) and 11X-3 (bearing responsibility for creating civil unrest) of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The complainant noted that national television had broadcast the press conference in question. The copy of the FIR was made public by former Punjab Home Minister Col (retd) Muhammad Hashim. The complainant stated that he had come across a press conference by Latif on September 14, during which Latif made troubling allegations against Imran Khan under the guise of religion.
Jinnah House Attack Case: ATC Orders Release Of Sanam Javed And Other PTI Activists
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has ordered the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed Khan and eight other party activists in the Jinnah House attack case. The ATC judge, Arshad Javed, announced the verdict and granted bail to the nine suspects involved in the case.
The court approved the bail requests for PTI activists Sanam Javed Khan, Robina Jameel, Afshan Tariq, Ashma Shuja, Shah Bano, Faisal Akhtar, Qasim, Ali Hasan, and Hussain Qadri. The court ordered their release, granting bail against surety bonds of Rs 0.1 million each.
Previously, the authorities placed Sanam Javed Khan and 12 other women leaders from PTI on physical remand over the Jinnah House attack case.
