Is Meghan Markle looking to run for president?

Rumours have it that Meghan Markle is networking with Democrats and meeting with potential campaign funders as she plans to run for the president in 2024.

According to a source, if President Joe Biden decides to not run for the second term Meghan will be running for the office.

A senior Labour figure, who is a veteran of Tony Blair’s Downing Street team with strong links to Washington, claims the Duchess of Sussex has been networking with senior Democrats. She is looking to build a campaign, as well as fundraising teams, for any potential campaign, the source said.

The source said,

“The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers.”

A friend of Markle’s said that the reason why Meghan did not want to give up American citizenship after marriage to Prince Harry was that she wanted to keep her political options open in America.

US constitutional experts say she would have to renounce her title if she wanted to hold public office in because it would conflict with the US oath of allegiance.

The source added it was assumed she was looking to run in 2024 when President Joe Biden will be 82 and deciding whether he wants to run for a second term.
