However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Pakistan, as fast bowler Haris Rauf had to leave the match due to an injury. The Pakistan Cricket Board stated, “Fast bowler Haris Rauf will not be bowling any further in the Asia Cup Super 4 match against India as a precautionary measure.” Rauf felt discomfort in his right flank during the previous day’s match, and an MRI revealed no tear.
Heavy rain in Colombo on Monday afternoon threatened to disrupt the reserve day of the high-profile Super Four clash between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup.
Virat Kohli resumed the innings for India, facing Shadab Khan. Only 24.1 overs were played on Sunday during this crucial encounter.
This extra day was added to the Super Four match, the only game aside from the final, due to a prior group match between the two teams being washed out in Pallekele.
Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were at the crease when rain halted play on Sunday. If the match was washed out, the teams would have shared the points.
India is scheduled to face Sri Lanka at the same venue on Tuesday.
