Cipher Case
The judge of the Official Secrets Act special court’s leave led to the adjournment of the hearing until September 11, causing the bail petitions for PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher displacement case go unaddressed.
PTI lawyers, including Naeem Haider Panjotha, Intizar Panjotha, Khalid Yousuf, and Ali Bukhari, arrived at the Official Secrets Act court but were informed by court staff that Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain was on leave for the day.
As a result, they postponed the bail application without conducting any proceedings
Expressing his concerns to the media outside the Judicial Complex, PTI lawyer Naeem Panjotha criticized the perception that justice seemed to be elusive for Imran Khan.
He stressed that imprisoning Imran Khan should result from a case that avoids causing national embarrassment.
Panjotha also brought up the swift verdict the sessions court issued when punishment was necessary.
Furthermore, the lawyer accused that someone had submitted a fabricated report in the high court regarding the former prime minister’s facilities.
Naeem Panjotha called out the injustice of denying Imran Khan justice and not considering the bail application.
He urged the high court to hear their petition and the Supreme Court to summon the PTI chairman by issuing production orders for a hearing.
