Indian opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi has strongly condemned the actions of a teacher who instructed her students to physically assault their Muslim classmate at a school in Uttar Pradesh. Gandhi attributed this incident to what he termed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “hatred politics”. He criticized the party for promoting division and discrimination.

In a post on platform X, Gandhi stated, “Sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children, turning a holy place like school into a marketplace of hatred โ nothing worse a teacher can do for the country.” He further held the BJP accountable for fostering an atmosphere of “hate and discrimination” in India.
A video that went viral on social media depicted a Muslim student enduring continuous physical abuse following the orders of the class teacher.
Indian lawmaker Asaduddin Owaisi revealed that the child’s father withdrew his son from the school. He expressed that he chose not to pursue the matter further due to a lack of faith in obtaining justice. He feared that it could worsen the situation.
Journalist Supriya Shrinate expressed her outrage at the violence, stating that her anger outweighed her sadness. She questioned how far the poison of bigotry and hatred had spread.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, emphasized that the choice was clear and highlighted that hate stands as a significant obstacle to progress.
Indian actor Simi Garewal demanded the arrest of the teacher involved in the incident.
