Elon Musk has confirmed through a social media post that his proposed cage fight with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will indeed be live-streamed on his social media platform, X. The two tech moguls have been playfully challenging each other to a mixed martial arts (MMA) cage match in Las Vegas since June. As of now, there has been no official response from Meta or Mark Zuckerberg regarding the proposed fight.
“Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans,” Musk said in a post on X, without giving any further details.
Earlier, Musk also shared on X that he has been training for the fight, lifting weights throughout the day to prepare himself. When questioned about the purpose of the fight, Musk responded, “It’s a civilized form of war. Men love war.”
Sports journalist Gareth A Davies commented that this type of fight between two prominent figures generates significant public interest. He compared it to the ancient tradition of emperors pitting gladiators against each other.
Experts predict that the fight, with the vast platforms and followings of Musk and Zuckerberg, will garner enormous viewership. This could potentially make it the most-watched fight in history.
The initial exchange of challenges began on June 20, when Elon Musk expressed his interest in a cage match with Mark Zuckerberg, who has a background in jiujitsu. Zuckerberg responded by asking Musk to “send location,” and in return, Musk replied with “Vegas Octagon.” This was a reference to a venue known for hosting MMA championship bouts.
