Naila emphasizes the importance of ‘sheer will’ in achieving dreams

She Encourages women to take part in mountaineering

ISLAMABAD:  Naila Kiani, the trendsetter for Pakistani women in mountaineering, aims to inspire females towards the sport, emphasizing that with sheer will, nothing is impossible in achieving one’s dreams.

Despite submitting eight peaks in two years, Naila expressed that there is still a lack of awareness about mountaineering among people.

She said, “We need to be aware of the people of mountaineering as we have got a lot of talent in the country. We also need support from the private sector.”

Naila, the first Pakistani woman to ascend Broad Peak, complete the climb of all five 8,000-meter peaks in Pakistan, and scale eight 8,000-meter peaks worldwide, announced her plan to conquer all of the world’s 14 highest peaks in the future.

Hailing from Rawalpindi, Naila expressed that if a woman from Pindi with no family background in mountaineering could achieve such feats, then other women can also do the same.

“We need to put our focus on mountaineering if we want to succeed and improve in the sector. As compared to Nepal, we need to improve the mountaineering sector to benefit from it,” she said.

Naila also praised the Alpine Club of Pakistan for their unwavering support and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for approving the national civil award Sitara-e-Imtiaz in recognition of her remarkable achievements.

Among her accomplishments, Naila successfully summited legendary Everest, the challenging K2, the towering Lhotse, the treacherous Annapurna, the elusive G1 and G2, and the majestic Nanga Parbat.

Naila’s unwavering resolve, unmatched abilities, and indomitable attitude have inspired countless mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts worldwide.
