ISLAMABAD: The Australian Federal Police (AFP) charged a 45-year-old former childcare worker with sexually abusing 91 children, making it one of the worst child sex abuse cases in the country’s history.
The man faces 1,623 separate offenses, including 136 counts of rape, 110 counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10, and 613 counts of producing child exploitation material.
Police reveal alleged crimes at 12 childcare centers, arrest man for child exploitation offenses. The accused man, from Queensland, has been in custody since August 2022. Authorities believe they have identify all 87 Australian children recorded in the child exploitation material.

They are also working with international partners to identify four children abused overseas. The man is set to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 21.
