NAB seeks assets record
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is seeking the record of assets of former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi.
The NAB has written letters to different institutions, requesting them to share assets records of both leaders.
The Bureau has approached the Federal Board of Revenue, Excise Department and deputy commissioners, seeking details of properties and vehicles of Parvez Elahi, Moonis, and Rasikh, and their families.
Additionally, the NAB is also seeking the record of assets registered in the name of Parvez Elahi’s daughter and daughters-in-law.
Furthermore, the NAB has initiated an inquiry against Moonis Elahi for possessing assets that seem to exceed known sources of income.
Judge refuses to hear Elahi’s case
Meanwhile, Justice Farooq Haider of the Lahore High Court recused himself from hearing the petition against Parvez Elahi’s detention. The court sent the file back to the branch.
The judge stated that he had previously served as a lawyer for Parvez Elahi. He expressed his displeasure with the registrar for fixing the former chief minister’s cases before him.
Earlier, Justice Farooq Haider presided over an application of Qaisara, wife of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi. She had challenged her husband’s detention orders in the high court.
Court orders to suspend salaries of IG Police and chief secretary
Meanwhile, the Court ordered the suspension of the salaries of the Punjab IGP, the prisons IGP, and the home secretary. The court gave order for their failure to present Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the court.
A show-cause notice issued to the three officers for transferring the PTI president to Rawalpindiโs Adiala Jail without permission and fined them Rs50,000 each by the court.

The court instructed the Punjab accountant general to suspend the salaries of the three officers.
The court was handling the money laundering case against Elah. The police failed to present him in court despite orders. Therefore, the court issued orders for not presenting the former chief minister and demanded his presence at the next hearing.
Additionally, the court directed the investigating officer to submit the complete investigation report at the next hearing.
Earlier, the court had directed the police to ensure Elahiโs presence during the proceedings. The authorities of Adiala Jail Rawalpindi also presented a report in court.
The report mentioned that according to the jail rules, the governmentโs permission is required to present anyone before the court.
The authorities wrote a letter to the Home Department as per the courtโs orders to summon Elahi. And they did not receive any reply.
The FIA Special Central Court summoned the PTI president based on an incomplete investigation report.
The court raised the question of how the authorities transferred the former CM to Rawalpindi without court permission.
