Llama-2
Meta has taken the wraps off its very own AI language model, Llama-2, designed to compete with ChatGPT and Google Bard. What sets Llama 2 apart is its availability for free, for personal and commercial usage.
Additionally, Meta has partnered with Qualcomm to integrate Llama 2 models into on-device AI capabilities.
The acronym LLaMA stands for Large Language Model Meta AI, and users can download the new AI models directly or through partnerships with Meta.

Meta, a famous tech giant, is introducing Llama-2 to compete with ChatGPT
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, collaborated with Microsoft to reveal the launch of Llama 2. It will position it as an open AI language model for research and commercial purposes, completely free of charge.
Venturing into the realm of generative AI tools for images and texts, Llama 2 aims to challenge other AI-based models available online, much like ChatGPT.
To distinguish itself further, Meta intends to prioritize accessibility. Llama 2 will be more transparent with its data and code usage, aiming to reduce bias frequently found in AI systems.
Zuckerberg emphasized the benefits of open-source software, driving innovation and enhancing safety and security through community scrutiny.
He stated, “It would unlock more progress if the ecosystem were more open, which is why we’re open sourcing Llama 2.”
Google launching app for journalists
Google is creating AI-driven tools to aid journalists in researching and crafting news articles. It may cause unease within the media industry, which has experienced significant job losses in recent years.
The tech giant said it is collaborating with media organizations. Especially smaller publishers, to offer AI-powered resources that can provide headline options and various writing styles.
The Google spokeswoman said the companyโs objective is to offer journalists the option of using emerging technologies to enhance their work. Similar to the assistive tools available in Gmail and Google Docs.
She clarifies that these AI-powered tools are not intended to replace journalistsโ crucial role in reporting, creating, and fact-checking their articles.
