LAHORE: In a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab, six suspected terrorists have been arrested.
A prominent commander affiliated with a militant organization was among the arrested suspects. Law enforcement authorities carried out the operations in various locations across the province.
The CTD confirmed the arrest of Bakht Sher, a key figure within the banned outfit, during one of the operations. Law enforcement authorities arrested five other terrorists in separate operations.
The CTD seized a significant amount of explosive material, mobile phones, and weapons from the militants. At the same time, the authorities recovered a large sum of money from the possession of the arrested militants.
These items will assist in ongoing investigations and provide valuable information about potential terror plots or networks associated with the detained individuals.

The CTD spokesperson praised the efforts of the personnel involved in the operations. He also emphasized the importance of intelligence-driven strategies in the fight against terrorism. The department remains committed to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring peace in the region.
Further investigations are currently underway to gather more information about the arrested suspects and their alleged involvement in terrorist activities.
The authorities will present the detained individuals before the appropriate authorities for legal proceedings in accordance with Pakistan’s anti-terrorism laws.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Punjab has actively engaged in conducting intelligence-based operations in recent years. Such operations counter terrorism and maintain law and order in the province.
These operations have been crucial in identifying and apprehending individuals involved in militant activities, disrupting terror networks, and preventing potential terrorist attacks.
The arrest of a prominent commander affiliated with a criminal militant organization is a significant development. It highlights the effectiveness of intelligence gathering and the dedication of the CTD personnel in tracking down high-value targets. The capture of such individuals not only disrupts the operational capabilities of militant organizations but also sends a strong message that society will not tolerate terrorist activities.
