Pakistan ‘strongly condemns’ Israeli airstrikes on Jenin: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has stated that the violence and airstrikes against the occupied people of Palestine by the Israeli forces must cease immediately.

On Tuesday, Islamabad strongly denounced the Israeli raids and airstrikes in the city of Jenin. Pakistan urged the “occupying Israeli power” to promptly cease the violence.

In a statement, the Foreign Office expressed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces’ raids and airstrikes conducted in Jenin, situated in the West Bank, occupied Palestinian territory. The statement highlighted that these military actions resulted in the loss of 10 Palestinian lives and injured approximately 50.

The Foreign Office stressed the need to end the recent violence against the people of Palestine. Islamabad further urged the international community to actively intervene and put an end to these brutal and unlawful actions. Additionally, Pakistan called for the protection of the human rights of the Palestinian people.

Pakistan firmly supports the Palestinian people’s legitimate struggle for self-determination and their rights and freedoms.

The statement emphasized support for a viable, independent Palestinian State with pre-1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital. This position aligns with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The raid in Jenin, initiated early Monday by the hard-right government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, involved the deployment of hundreds of troops, as well as the use of drone strikes and army bulldozers that caused destruction to streets and vehicles.
