ECC okays Rs 9.5 billion guarantee for Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, Rs 12 billion for NDMA
ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet approved Rs 9.5 billion worth of GoP guarantee for Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway. The Committee also approved Rs 12 billion for the National Disaster Management Authority to buy relief items ahead of the start of monsoon season.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Monday in Islamabad.
With Rs. 12 billion, the NDMA will purchasef relief items to restock/replenish its reserves.

The committee also recommended increase in the Maximum Retail Prices of 49 drugs. The committee decided this on the basis of their lower prices in comparison with the neighboring countries.
The ECC also approved following Supplementary and Technical Supplementary Grants: Rs. 839.129 million in favor of the project titled โNew Gwadar International Airport (NIGA) of Ministry of Aviation; Rs. 120.450 million TSG in favor of Establishment Division; Rs. 140,584,175 /- for the Establishment Division for Payment to Govt. Departments against their Services.
The committee also gave approval for Rs. 116.499 million in favor of Ministry of Human Rights; Rs. 700 million in favor of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Rs. 48 million in favor of Ministry of Interior for construction of FATA Levies Centre at Peshawar; Rs. 470.827 million in favor of Ministry of Interior for the payment of troops cost/subsistence allowance to personnel of Civil Armed Forces deployed in UN Peacekeeping Missions.
Meanwhile, the Economic Coordination Committee also approved Rs. 66.33 million for the construction of Frontier Constabulary Training Center, Michni, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Rs. 347.99 million for Ministry of Interior to complete the raising process of 6th Battalion of Pakistan Post Guards for anti-smuggling purpose.
Rs. 49.5 million in favor of Ministry of Interior for further disbursement of amount as financial assistance for the families of Shuhada and injured persons of Swat terrorism incident.
Other approvals include Rs. 9,145 million for Power Division for execution of 2×660 MW Coal fired Power project Jamshoro; Rs. 48.429 million in favor of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs; and Rs. 110.65 million for the National Counter Terrorism Authority.
