Users can now log into same Whatsapp account on up to four phones

Facebook’s founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that a feature enabling users to connect to the messaging app from various phones will soon be available on WhatsApp.

“Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones.”, according to a Facebook post by Mark Zuckerberg.

This feature will be beneficial for individuals who use multiple devices.

WhatsApp beta users may now have widespread access to the long-awaited Companion Mode, bringing the multi-device functionality closer to a stable version. Users can link the same WhatsApp account to up to four smartphones with the Companion Mode upgrade, making it more convenient for individuals who own numerous devices. It is vital to remember, however, that both phones must have the same version of the software in order to utilise the same WhatsApp account on both devices.

According to the screenshot, Companion Mode will work similarly to connected devices, in that entering the area of the linked device would deliver a QR code to scan on the other phone in order to utilise the same WhatsApp account. This function will synchronise both devices’ conversations and media.

Furthermore, To continue using WhatsApp on the secondary phone, you will not require an active internet connection on the first phone.

WhatsApp Will Soon Allow You To Lock Individual Chats

WhatsApp‘s ability to lock individual chats behind biometrics

Recently, a new security layer has been discovered that WhatsApp is currently developing.

This feature will enable users to lock and conceal individual chats with biometric security, which should be accessible to all since most modern smartphones have some form of biometrics.

Consequently, there will be no need to rely on unreliable third-party apps for an adequate solution.

This feature is available in version 2.23.8.2. of the app and is not yet available to all users.

The release date for this update is uncertain; however, it is encouraging to see that the company is working on a feature of this caliber.
