Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn Break Up After 6 Years Together

According to reports, Taylor Swift and British actor Joe Alwyn ended their six-year relationship a few weeks ago.

The split was amicable and not dramatic, as the couple’s relationship had run its course.

That’s why Swift’s partner Alwyn hasn’t appeared at any of her recent shows.

The couple started dating towards the end of 2016, and in October of 2022, a source told ET that they were “doing great” and had a “super strong” relationship.

However, their relationship has since come to an end.

‘Lavender Haze’ from Taylor Swift’s 2022 album Midnights was about Alwyn.

Swift had previously revealed on Instagram that the song ‘Lavender Haze’ from her 2022 album Midnights was about Alwyn.

She said that when you’re in a lavender haze of love, “you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud.”

Taylor added that, like her relationship with Alwyn, they’ve had to ignore weird rumors and tabloid stuff to protect their real relationship.

The song ‘Sweet Nothing’ from the same album also had a writing credit for Joe Alwyn.

Swift credited Alwyn on several songs from her 2020 albums folklore and evermore under the pseudonym “William Bowery.”

In the Disney+ documentary folklore: the long pond studio sessions, released in 2020, Swift confirmed that Alwyn was the true identity of the co-writer, adding that he “plays piano beautifully and he’s always just playing and making things up and kind of creating things.”

This collaboration proved fruitful as folklore won a Grammy for Album of the Year in 2021, resulting in Alwyn’s first Grammy win.

In a 2018 interview with British Vogue, Alwyn stated that he and Swift had been successfully private, and people were now aware of that.

When asked about rumors of their engagement in a 2022 interview with WSJ Magazine, Alwyn replied, “If the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.

I mean, the truth is, if I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins.”
