On Tuesday, Pakistan secured its place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 as the next highest-ranked team in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings outside of the six direct qualifiers and hosts.

Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, who were the top three teams in Group 1 got the direct qualification.

while England, India, and the West Indies made it from Group 2.

Bangladesh qualified as the host of the ninth edition of the tournament.

The organizers have not yet announced the dates and venues for the event, but they have scheduled the Global Qualifier to take place in early 2024, which will fill the remaining two spots.

Sri Lanka and Ireland were the two teams from this year’s tournament who failed to get a direct qualification, currently ranked eighth and 10th in the rankings, respectively.

Australia won the Women’s T20 World Cup for the sixth time by defeating South Africa by 19 runs in the final at Newlands on Sunday.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Beth Mooney

Beth Mooney, the opening batter, scored an unbeaten 74 in a total of 156 for six to anchor the Australian innings.

Despite opener Laura Wolvaardt hitting 61 off 48 balls, South Africa could only manage to score 137 for six as they were unable to maintain the required run rate, and Australia restricted them from scoring more.

Furthermore,

According to Mooney, Australia’s hunger for winning helped them secure victory in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 final.

“We want to continue winning as many as there is out there.

We don’t get tired of it,”  Mooney stated.

“Something we speak about as a group is making sure we’re always evolving along the way, I think we’ve seen in this tournament, there are teams around the world getting better and better as the years go on.”

“We are aware that people are hunting us, observing what we do and how we do it. Therefore, it is certain that it won’t last forever.”

“But we’ll enjoy it for as long as we can, and hopefully we can keep piling up those trophies and enjoying our streak.”
