Bilawal to depart for Davos today to attend World Economic Forum meeting
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will depart today (Monday) for Davos, Switzerland, at the invitation of the World Economic Forum’s president, to attend the forum’s annual meeting from January 16 to 20.
According to a Foreign Office press release:
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar will accompany the foreign minister.
The foreign and state minister would attend several World Economic Forum conferences on current national, international, and local issues.
The World Economic Forum brings together political and business leaders every year to discuss ways to address economic, social, and environmental challenges.
“Cooperation in a Fragmented World” is this year’s Forum theme.
Furthermore, The foreign minister will discuss regional security and stability challenges and Pakistan’s view on the economic and social consequences of changing geopolitical realities.
He will emphasise the developing world’s perspective on issues like food and energy security, climate change, and social vulnerabilities in times of high inflation and slow economic growth.
Along with participating dignitaries including political figures, business executives, leaders of international organisations, prominent members of the media, and civil society members, the foreign minister and minister of state will meet with them.
