Islamabad’s Margalla Hills Expected to Get Snowfall This Week

The residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are facing the biting cold and foggy weather.

As Pakistan braces for a severe cold wave brought on by harsh Siberian winds, temperature records for this season are expected across the country.

Pak Weather, Pakistan’s largest automated weather station network, predicts significant snowfall in Murree between January 10 and January 14.

Because of their proximity to the hill station, Islamabad’s Margalla Hills are expected to receive snowfall, causing the temperature in the federal capital to drop below freezing.

Furthermore, temperatures in Karachi are expected to be extremely low from January 12 to January 16.

Temperatures in the provincial capital’s northern reaches can range from 4-6°C.

While temperatures in Karachi’s southern regions are expected to range between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius, temperatures in the city’s central regions are expected to remain between 7-9 degrees Celsius.

This will be one of the coldest days in Karachi in a long time. Karachi experienced its coldest temperature ever, 0°C, in the 1940s.
