ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court today granted to PTI Senator Azam Swati in his controversial tweets against Gen. Bajwa and others.

Chief Justice of IHC Amir Farooq announced the verdict on Monday afternoon. PTI senator submitted surety bonds of Rs200,000 to get bail.

PTI Senator Swati had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking bail in this case, filed on November 26. Earlier, the court turned down his bail plea saying the senator had committed the same offence twice.

Azam Swati maintained in his bail application that he did not post derogatory remarks against any institution.

He also pointed out that the prosecution did not have proof against him.

Meanwhile, in his bail request, Swati said that he is 75 years old, a heart patient, and sending him to jail would be a conviction without offence.
