Terrorism Resurge: 2 soldiers injured in Waziristan checkpost attack

PESHAWAR: The recent resurge in terrorist activities leaves two soldiers in Waziristan injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a security checkpost wall in Mirali area of North Waziristan on Thursday.

The security check-post was established on Bypass road. Local police said that the area was immediately cordoned off and a search operation was launched. “It was a vehicle-borne attack.

The local sources report that the wounded soldiers were immediately shifted to hospital. On December 20, one soldier and two civilians lost their lives when a suicide bomber rammed a rikshaw into the vehicle carrying security forces in Miramshah.

While private media reports the incident, no official statement was received from Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR)
