Babar Azam became the fourth player in 2022 and the first Pakistani in six years to reach 1,000 Test runs in a calendar year during the third Test against England in Karachi.
When he reached 45 in an innings that ended on 54, he became Pakistan’s sixth batter to score 1,000 runs in a calendar year.
Despite Babar’s outstanding performance. Pakistan is on the verge of a first-ever 3-0 series whitewash on home soil.
Babar will have one more game to add to his 1,009 in eight Tests when Pakistan plays New Zealand next week.
