Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s national cricket team, claimed that AB de Villiers, a former captain of South Africa, is his ideal cricketer and that he used to imitate him when playing shots.

“Watching AB de Villiers play on television, I used to practice hitting shots like him,” He made this statement in an exclusive interview with Nasser Hussain, a former English captain.

The English team was graciously welcomed in Pakistan by Babar.

When asked about the start of Babar’s cricket career, Pakistan’s captain cited the value of his father.

He said, “My father supported me a lot.”

“In my childhood, my father used to take me to the cricket ground. He played a crucial role in my learning the game. He monitored my performance,” he continued.

Babar Azam stated that he was confident he would be selected for the national team given how well he performed while playing under-19 cricket in Australia.

He added that while he initially struggled, Micky Arthur, the former head coach of Pakistan, supported him, and as a result, he gradually began to perform well.
