In addition to setting his sights on helping Portugal win its first World Cup title, Cristiano Ronaldo took some time to consider his time with Manchester United before the 2022 FIFA World Cup gets underway in Qatar in seven days.
Ronaldo revealed in an open conversation with Piers Morgan that he feels “betrayed” by the way Manchester United has treated him since his return this season and believes the organisation is attempting to get rid of him:

He was then left out of the squad for the following Saturday’s game against Chelsea.
“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” the 37-year-old forward, who will captain Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar, said of Ten Hag. If you don’t respect me, I will never respect you.”
When his daughter was taken to the hospital in July, Ronaldo claimed Manchester United did not support him. When he did not arrive on time for pre-season training, he claimed the club doubted him and displayed a lack of empathy.
He stated, “I believe the fans should know the truth.”
After leaving Manchester United in 2009 to join Real Madrid, Ronaldo decided to come back during the 2021–2022 season. Before joining Juventus in 2018, he played for Los Blancos for nine seasons.
Prior to signing a two-year contract with the Red Devils in August 2021 with an option for a third year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner played one game for Juventus in 2021–2022 before doing so.
Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford, though, hasn’t gone as he had hoped. Last season, he scored 24 goals in all competitions, but Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and lost in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking to Morgan, Ronaldo expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s lack of advancements since his departure in 2009.
After his interview with Morgan, it’s difficult to see how Ronaldo could continue to work with the team. It will be intriguing to see who he suits up for next if this was his final game with the Red Devils.
