Based on actual events, this film depicts the 2009 hijacking of the Maersk Alabama. The American merchant mariner Captain Richard Phillips, whose eponymous story is told in this film, was held hostage by Somali pirates during the hijacking.
4. Finch (2021):
In this British-American dystopian endurance film, a robot who was built to save his creator’s dying dog learns about love, friendship, and the value of human life in a post-apocalyptic world.
5. Forrest Gump (1994):
This film is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name, which tells the story of Forest Gump, a kind but dimwitted man who unintentionally influences some of America’s most important historical moments.
