With songs from her most recent album, Midnights, Taylor Swift received a perfect score of 10, making her the first artist in history to take the Top 10 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Drake had previously held the record with nine of the Top 10 songs for a week in September 2021, but Swift has now surpassed him.
“10 out of 10 of the Hot 100??? On my 10th album??? I AM IN SHAMBLES,” the 32-year-old pop star tweeted.
On October 21, Swift released her eagerly awaited album Midnights, which also made its chart-topping debut at the top of Billboard’s top albums chart and enjoyed the biggest first-week sales since Adele’s 25 in 2015.
Midnights set a record as the most-streamed album in a day, per Spotify, despite Swift’s 10th album’s release crashing the service for hours.
According to Swift, the 13 songs on the album “tell the story of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”
When taken as a whole, they paint “a complete picture of the intensities of that baffling, mad hour.”
Following two pandemic albums that leaned more toward folk, Folklore, and Evermore, Swift’s most recent album sees her returning to pop and bringing up some of her earliest hits.
It also declines because the 32-year-old has achieved tremendous success by fulfilling her promise to re-record her first six albums so she can maintain ownership of their rights.
Of her six albums so far, she has only released Red and Fearless as re-records.
After being contractually permitted to start the procedure in November 2020, Swift still has four to go.
