Imran Khan, the PTI chairman and former prime minister, has been disqualified by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana reference.
On September 19, a five-member ECP panel led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja reserved judgement in the Toshakhana reference brought against former prime minister Imran Khan.
The ECP sent notices to the parties, including the former prime minister in the reference, before the decision was announced.
Security precautions
Before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced its decision in the Toshakhana reference, security was stepped up at the organisation.
To guarantee the protection of the ECP, Punjab Rangers, FC, and a sizable police detachment had been sent out.
Tear gas shells were given to the army, and the Election Commission of Pakistan has forbidden the entry of unrelated individuals.
