LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to serve a notice on senior party leader Aitzaz Ahsan for his statements against the Sharif family.
According to sources, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) top leadership has distanced itself from Aitzaz Ahsan’s recent statement, stating that it was his personal opinion and did not reflect party policy.
Rana Farooq Saeed, acting president of the PPP’s central Punjab zone, is expected to hold a press conference to address the issue.
It should be noted that veteran PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan claimed that the establishment helped the Sharif family avoid prosecution in corruption cases.
The PPP leader was speaking to reporters at the Lahore High Court shortly after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz Sharif were acquitted in a money laundering case.
