ISLAMABAD: An accountability court granted Finance Minister Ishaq Dar a one-day stay of proceedings in the case of an asset on Wednesday.
Dar’s lawyer pleaded with the court to grant his client a one-day exemption because he is currently in the United States (US) for meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.
While granting the Finance Minister exemption, the court adjourned the case until November 9.
An Rs. 1 million surety bond was submittedย in court by Dar’s lawyer.
An accountability court in Islamabad revoked the arrest order issued in the assets beyond means case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar during the most recent hearing.
Dar and his counsel, Qazi Misbah, appeared before the accountability court today to request that the arrest warrant issued in a corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau be revoked (NAB).
Earlier in September, an accountability court suspended Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s ongoing arrest warrants until October 7, stating that the warrants would be lifted once the accused appeared in court.
