Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori asserted on Monday that Farooq Sattar will soon join the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Governor Kamran Tessori stated in an interview with ARY News that MQM-P convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui wants other rebellious figures to rejoin the political party.
He claimed that MQM-P submitted certain names to the Center for consideration for the governor’s post, but they were rejected. He said that in the second phase, the federal government received the names of Waseem Akhtar and two additional people.
The governor of Sindh claimed that despite waiting four months after nominating Nasreen Jalil for the governor’s position, her name was rejected because of her illness. Tessori stated that because of the coalition administration, he will not publicly address certain issues.
Kamran Tessori, the head of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), was sworn in as the 34th governor of Sindh earlier in the day.
At a ceremony held at the Governor House, he was sworn in by Chief Justice Ahmad Ali M. Shaikh of the Sindh High Court.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, and Agha Siraj Durrani, the speaker of the Sindh Assembly, among others, were present at the occasion.
Imran Ismail of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who resigned after Imran Khan was removed as prime minister, has been replaced as governor by the new governor.
After his appointment as governor Sindh, Tessori resigned from the post of Deputy Convenor of the MQM Liaison Committee.
