ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, a district and sessions court in Islamabad directed the police to give PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s belongings back to him after they were taken during an investigation into a treason charge he is currently facing.
Despite being charged with sedition for making comments on a private TV channel that were intended to stir up mutiny in the Pakistan Army, Gill was granted bail by the IHC on September 15.
The instruction to return the possessions was given in response to Gill’s request for the return of 31 things that the police had seized.
The hearing in the sedition case was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.
Gill stated to the court at the start of the hearing that he travels a lot and needs his spectacles, membership card, and other items.

The government has not given him security, he also informed the court, and the police have seized his gun licence.
In addition, he requested additional time for the case trial power of attorney submission.
The court was irritated by the slogans that PTI attorneys and employees sang during the hearing in support of Gill, so he told them to stop.
The judge said, “I hope your pals don’t yell slogans in front of me outside.
Following a brief recess, the court continued the hearing at 11:30 am.
When the hearing resumed, the judge accepted Gill’s plea in part and ordered the defendants to provide Gill with his eyeglasses, national identification card, ATM cards, and other daily necessities.
The judge commented, “Islamabad police is being given permission to store the contentious materials until the conclusion of the investigations.”
Following the orders, the judge continued the hearing to October 11.
