Wednesday, State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik issued a severe gas crisis warning, stating that the government must take immediate action and โwill try to provide gas during breakfast and meal timesโ.
โTo meet the gas demand for domestic consumers of sui northern, 95mmcfd is required, however, only 68mmcfd will be available in winters. While we have the same situation for sui southern consumers,โย Musadil Malik said at a Conference.
In light of this, Malik stated that the government will make an effort to only give gas to customers during mealtimes.
The state minister added that the government would buy 20,000 tonnes more of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
โWe are devising a comprehensive plan for gas distribution in winters and it will be announced shortly,โย He continued.
In the next three to four years, according to Malik, Pakistan will achieve energy independence.
In the end, he concluded, โGovernment will try to provide more relief to the masses in winter compared to last year as we are working on the reduction of electricity and gas prices,โย
