In response to a power failure in September 2021, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) fined National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) Rs. 10 million.
A partial suspension of the electrical supply in the HESCO region and Karachi took place in September 2021 as a result of a trip to the Jamshoro Grid Station.
The fine on NTDC was assessed because it failed to supply an acceptable amount of electricity during a breakdown in September 2021, according to information provided by the NEPRA. โThe NTDC took 2.33 hours to fully restore electricity from Jamshoro Grid Station.โ
The NEPRA further claimed that NTDC did not respond to a show-cause notice it had sent to the organisation to examine the failure.
According to K-Electric, an extra high tension (EHT) transmission line trip in Sindh’s Jamshoro district resulted in power disruptions in a number of Karachi neighbourhoods on September 1 of last year.
According to the Ministry of Energy, lightning destroyed the isolator for the circuits on the 220kV Jamshoro-Tando Mohammad Khan line at 4:09 p.m. when it struck the Jamshoro grid station.
