About 174 Indonesians have lost their lives in a fatal football clashes driven stampede in the Malang city of Java province.
Deputy East Java Governor Emil Dardak told media on Sunday about the latest number of fatalities. Death toll may rise further as many soccer-ball fans are in serious condition.
Earlier reports indicated 127 casualties at a soccer match in Indonesia after panicked fans were trampled and crushed trying to flee during a riot.

When supporters of the losing home team invaded the football ground in Malang city of East Java on Saturday night to express their frustration, police fired tear gas to control the situation, which triggered a stampede and cases of suffocation.
This is the biggest football match tragedy in the history of Indonesia.
