Sindh Government established a tent city in Malir to accommodate flood victims

In order to provide shelter for flood victims, the Government of Sindh created a tent city in the District of Malir.

A new tent city with 1300 tents has been created in Malir to house flood victims, according to Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab.

To care for the residents of the tent city, he claimed that restrooms, kitchens, schools, and a mobile hospital had also been built.

In order to build a tent city for flood victims, the Sindh government had already announced the allotment of 100 acres of land in Karachi’s Malir neighbourhood.

A plot of land measuring 100 acres is being allotted in Malir district sector 18 according to deputy commissioner Malir, who was speaking about the tent city. As many as 100,000 flood victims will be housed in the thousands of tents that will be built nearby, he said.

He mentioned that at the camps, in addition to housing, the flood victims will also have access to other amenities.

Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, stated on Thursday that 1.5 million tents are needed but that only 250,000 have been set up.
