Dr. Asad Majeed to be the new foreign secretary

Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Brussels, is most likely to be named the new foreign secretary.

He has reportedly already left Brussels and will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow. He had recently been named the ambassador of Pakistan to the European Union.

He also informed the National Security Committee of the purported US “cypher” before returning to Pakistan.

Suhail Mehmood, the current foreign secretary, will step down in two days.

PhD-holding Dr. Asad Majeed is a seasoned member of the Foreign Service.
