A new group call feature for WhatsApp is coming soon

WhatsApp, a platform for instant messaging and calling, is poised to introduce a new feature that will let users share a direct link for a call.

This week, WhatsApp will launch the function. To access it, click the banner at the top of the Calls page.

The Call Link feature will be available to users of the most recent program version.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, shared the information on Facebook.

According to him, users would only need to “single tap” their device to share a link to a call.

In April, there was news of a feature called WhatsApp Communities that would allow users to call up to 32 people at once.

Both voice and video calls will be able to use the most recent functionality.

In the post, Zuckerberg acknowledged that group chats using encrypted video calling were currently being tested.

Currently, WhatsApp only permits eight users on one call.

With the addition of the most recent capability, WhatsApp may now face competition from Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.

At least 100 users can be active at once on any of these platforms.
