In the Khyber tribal district here on Tuesday, unidentified gunmen killed one member of the tribe and injured another.
According to family reports, two motorcycle-riding assailants opened fire on Rasheed Khan and his friend who were riding motorcycles close to Jamrud’s Teddi Bazaar.
They claimed Rasheed died there and then, while his friend was seriously hurt and sent to a nearby hospital.
Later in the evening, the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed accountability for the targeted killing and said the victim was a spy.
The attack was carried out, according to a statement from the TTP’s Peshawar chapter, by their armed wing operating in the Khyber district.
