PM Shehbaz Sharif Condoles with King Charles III over the passing of Queen Elizabeth

At the reception that King Charles III hosted for the visiting dignitaries today in London, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences for the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

One of the largest diplomatic meetings in recent memory will include the Pakistani prime among the hundreds of foreign royals and heads of state invited to Queen Elizabeth II’s burial.

It is expected that 500 heads of state and foreign dignitaries will attend with their partners.

PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed sympathy for the loss of his mother and noted that the late monarch had served as an example and a source of courage for many generations of Commonwealth residents.

The prime minister recalled that the Queen’s two visits to Pakistan were well-remembered by the populace and that the relationship between the Royal family and the Pakistani people had grown closer over time.

The prime minister of Pakistan sent his congratulations to the new king of the United Kingdom on his accession to the throne on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan. He also expressed the hope that he would carry on his mother’s legacy by fostering even closer ties between Commonwealth nations.

The prime minister declared that King Charles III was highly regarded by the people of Pakistan and that they were eager to have him visit their country as soon as possible.

In response to the severe floods, PM Shehbaz also thanked the British monarch for the royal family’s sympathies and support. He said to the King, “The call for assistance and the reaction from both the British government and the public were sincerely appreciated in Pakistan.
