According to local media, the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) has begun an investigation into the priceless gifts that the former prime minister Imran Khan received over the previous four years.
According to sources, the Federal Examine Directorate has been given a mandate by the AGP office to audit the gifts that the previous PM and his cabinet received while on their international visit. The Public Accounts Committee has directed the AGP to begin this audit (PAC). It is important to remember that on August 18, 2022, Noor Alam Khan, the chairman of the PAC, gave the AGP the go-ahead to audit Toshakhana.
Additionally, the PAC requested that the secretary of the Cabinet Division refrain from ever again substituting inferior goods for Tohsakhana’s initial gifts. Recently, there has been much discussion surrounding the Toshakhana case. A committee was recently established by PM Shehbaz Sharif to draft a new Toshakhana policy.
