After nearly 15 years of living in a polio-free country, Pakistan has so far reported 18 cases of the virus in 2022.
As the 18th case from Pakistan this year, a three-month-old baby has been paralysed by wild poliovirus in North Waziristan.
The Pakistan National Polio Laboratory at the National Institute of Health reported on Saturday that the youngster who had polio-related disability had started to experience paralysis on August 25.
All cases from Pakistan this year, with the exception of two from Lakki Marwat, have come from North Waziristan.
