Delhi Police used a scene from the Asia Cup final match on Twitter to highlight the need of driving safely. Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the subcontinent.
The law enforcement agency played a clip from the Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka cricket match in which Pakistani cricketers Asif Ali and Shadab Khan collided and missed a critical catch. The six runs Sri Lanka acquired as a result of this dropped catch helped them get closer to winning the Asia Cup trophy, which they eventually did.
Shadab twice missed Rajapaksa’s catch. Even India’s Delhi Police did not spare the Pakistani players as the crash became the topic of several memes on the internet, particularly on Twitter.
In order to raise awareness among the public about road safety, the Delhi Police posted a video of the moment Shadab and Asif accidentally collided on the microblogging website.
The song “Aye Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo” from the movie Mera Naam Joker was also shared by Delhi Police to learn the value of moving only after thoroughly assessing the surroundings for possible barriers.
Since it was posted, this tweet has received over 33,000 likes and over 5 lac views.
